Day 15 back to paris
so its been a relaxing week at ile de re and now i'm back at avril's place with my aunt....avril's still at ile de re so we get the whole apartment to ourselves
Did lotsa things over at ile de re in the last week....too many to list...so here are the top 10
10) Got tricked by aunty diana to walk from la flotte to st martin... she didnt tell us it would take us more than one hour of brisk walking!!!!!!we were so sore after that man!!!but lotsa pics!!!beautiful beach!
9) Took Little Lara to La Rochelle to the aquarium which is like underwater world and shopping,...haha was kinda scared that she'll get lost and it will be my fault....
8) Boat Ride at venice vert as mentioned in the previous mail....DUCKS and DUCKWEED
7) Cycled over to aunt diana's shop with Lara...oh man dont even get me started on how lousy i am on the bicycle!!!!!mahlu!...
6) Applying cream on my insect bites!!!!argh...it itches...and i seem to be getting new ones each day!!!!i sprayed the whole room with bygon man!
5) Went to he beach with Avril, Lara, and Aunt Diana's sister's kids, Micheal and Nicole....goodness the water was cold and i kept getting bitten by those cursed insects!!!!argh!!!but was fun to see the kids play ahha...relive my childhood...man i feel old
4) Virgin experience climbing a tree!!!!!went up with michael, nicole n lara....wohoo!!!!at least now i can say i did it...
3) Late nite excursion with aunt diana and irene for drinks at la rochelle....wohoo pubbing...had a real kewl drink...i think it was called chantey maritime or something...was named after that area in france....sheesh it was like 4 kinds of alcohol mixed...POTENT!!!!and it was blue!
2) Dinner at a friend's rented home...uncle JIM and aunt JO....that is one of the nicest and funniest couples u would ever meet...they're english...had great food and also lotsa laughs!oh yeah and PORT is now my new favourite alcoholic drink!!!!yummy!
1) Aunty Diana's 50th birthday party was a smash...well at last for the adults...hmm i guess that includes me rite...was rather confused at where i belonged at the party cause the adults were mostly over 40 and and chatting at the garden while the kids were all below 15 and playing in the living room....oh well i guess u guys know where i ended up...yep, playing big brother or baby sitter!!!haiz...seems more logical since the age gap was smaller then to the rest of the adults...only difference is i get to drink! \performed on the piano for the crowed at the birthday girl's request...went pretty well...haha..my fave Ginastera!
After that party Michael and I stayed up for a late, REALLIIE LATE movie...farenheit 9/11...pretty good...although poor mike was snoring halfway haha
that more or less sums up my week at ile de re...had a great time...hope to come again..even though ive been here twice already!....haiz...dont think my dad will let me come for a long time anyway!
Other things happened at home....was rather shocked to to hear of a good friend's death from my cousin over sms...The guy was suffering from leukemia but i was sooooo sure God would work a miracle in him and he would be cured...he seemed to be fighting the disease pretty well too...visited him a couple of times but i reallie regret not being able to see him one last time as i wont be home for his funeral....
It all happened so quickly,,,gosh he was at my birthday party this year! and a week later was diagnosed....and a few months later...haiz...i cant bring myself to accept the fact that he's gone...was kinda in denial for a while pretending that nothing had happened but it finally hit me when my cousin called and cried over the phone to me..didnt know what to say or think...
He'd been a real great math tuitor in school when i needed it, even though i eventually dropped the subject, i'll always appreciate wat he had done for me...even when we were in the same camp in army, he would give me advice on how to deal with problems and stuff like that...
I pray that his family will recover from the grief soon and God will comfort them in this trying time...
Kang Fei, you'll be missed dearly...
